Mars enters Virgo on July 10th at exactly 6:40 am CDT and will stay here until August 27th. This is a significant shift for Mars as it loses the Sun as its ruler and must now answer to Mercury. For the next six weeks, we are more likely to think before acting, prioritize accuracy, and be economical in our methods.
Although this will be a productive time for many of us, if we are not careful, Mars in Virgo can propel us into a perhaps unhealthy relationship with perfection. It can be all too common when Mars is here to have the attitude that if we can’t do it perfectly, then we just won’t do it at all. It is one thing for us to have pride in our efforts, but we can not let it drive us into frustration due to our high standards.
Mars’ first connection is on July 20th, when it opposes Saturn. Frustrations and delays are likely around this time, so don’t push what isn’t working. Take a moment to reflect and be more introverted.
Next, on August 1st, Mars connects pleasantly with Jupiter. Focus on getting the most out of practical tasks by doing things more efficiently. This is a great time to make schedules, clean, or attend to detailed matters.
Then on August 15th, Mars connects pleasantly with Uranus. We will likely have an ingenious insight into handling matters more sensibly.
On August 22nd, Mars opposes Neptune. There may be conflict if we don’t take some time to chill out and get in touch with our spiritual side. Schedule some time to meditate or do something creative.
Finally, on August 24th, Mars connects pleasantly with Pluto. This is a great time to focus on important projects that require accuracy or attention to detail. We also may become aware of what is holding our progress back.
When we allow ourselves to make mistakes, we tend to actually make less of them because we aren’t operating under an extreme amount of self-induced pressure. Perfection isn’t our goal in life; improvement is. So let’s hold ourselves to a high standard while also being kind enough to understand that we are only human.
