Mercury enters Leo on July 10th at exactly 11:11 pm CDT and will stay here until July 28th. For the first two-thirds of this transit, there won’t be a huge shift in energy as Mercury will be ruled by the Sun in Cancer, which will continue much of the energy we experienced when Mercury was in Cancer. Only when the Sun enters Leo on July 22 will we feel free to communicate our big ideas, be more outspoken, and fix our intentions toward our goals.
This transit is also important because once Mercury enters Virgo on July 28th, we begin preparing for a very challenging Mercury retrograde starting August 23rd. We must use this time to express anything we need to express before matters get much more complicated. So if we have a big idea, now is the time to put it in motion because the rest of the summer (or winter if you’re in the SH) will be really difficult to navigate.
Mercury’s first connection is on July 16th, when it squares off with Jupiter. Stubborn or entrenched attitudes may keep us from expanding our perspective and may limit our ability to communicate effectively.
Next, on July 21st, Mercury connects pleasantly with Chiron. Focus on proactively advocating for yourself and healing an insecurity.
Then on July 23rd, Mercury squares off with Uranus. Once again, we may be pushed to see where our opinions or attitudes have become stagnant or too rigid.
Finally, on the 27th, Mercury joins a now retrograde Venus in Leo. We are likely to have a sincere conversation with a friend or loved one that revolves around past issues or matters. We may not resolve the issue but we can make inroads toward resolution.
We must use this time to really be true to ourselves. Over these next three weeks, refrain from saying only what you think others want to hear, and avoid seeing things only how others do. It would make the world incredibly dull if we all had the same thoughts and ideas, so let’s remember that our unique voices and perspectives are needed and valuable.
