The Sun will leave Gemini and enter Cancer on Sunday, June 20th at exactly 10:32 pm CDT. This event also marks the Summer/Winter Solstice. Cancer is a sign ruled by the Moon, so we are often extra sensitive, and our moods rarely stay in one place. The Sun will be pretty busy during its time in Cancer which should help us work through some of the emotions we’ve put on hold.
Whether you are currently experiencing summer or winter, we are truly starting to feel enmeshed in a new season. Look back at where you were six months ago and where you are now and notice the contrast. The Full Moon on June 24th will really highlight this dynamic. Soak in the new season, the new energy, and take time to be present with it.
Although we need to exercise some caution because sometimes when we see how much our life has changed, we become more aware of our existence and how time affects us. This can lead to insecurity, denial, or defensiveness. Use the New Moon on July 9th to reset and reconsider how you can care for yourself emotionally.
The Sun also connects with Jupiter and Neptune during its time in Cancer. This is again reiterating that we should not brush our feelings aside. Around June 23rd, pick up on any sensitivities around your beliefs and consider what information this is giving you. A couple of weeks later, around July 15th, try to be with those you love or care about and pay close attention to your intuition.
Towards the middle of July (the 17th), things get really intense when the Sun opposes Pluto. We may feel especially fearful or small. It could also bring up a situation where we feel less powerful than we would like to be. It may get to the point where we have to stand up for ourselves or someone that is being hurt or taken advantage of. Prepare yourself mentally and emotionally.
To survive this changing world, we have to learn how to deal with our emotions effectively. Make the effort to process and work through them; it will ultimately save you so much time and discomfort.
