The Sun enters Virgo on August 23rd at exactly 4:01 pm CDT and will stay here until September 22nd. Virgo’s ruler Mercury will be retrograde for most of this time, making the next four weeks more challenging than usual. Although this may be a frustrating period for many of us, we can use it to work on our problem-solving techniques and be more thoughtful about our intentions.
The Sun's first connection happens on August 26th when it opposes Saturn. There may be conflict if we are too inflexible. Take a more easygoing approach and try to be more accepting.
Next, on September 5th, the Sun joins a retrograde Mercury. We should be cautious in making decisions around this time as we may not see matters as clearly as we assume. It also may be difficult to focus, so avoid complex mental tasks.
Then on September 7th, the Sun connects pleasantly with Jupiter, helping us with more practical endeavors as long as we don’t overextend ourselves and approach matters one step at a time.
The Sun then connects pleasantly with Uranus on September 15th, pushing us to change our perspective beneficially as we see different possibilities.
Next, on September 18th, the Sun opposes Neptune. We may have a difficult time if we are too critical when we should be more compassionate.
Finally, the Sun connects pleasantly with Pluto on September 20th. Although it may be tempting to make a big decision around this time, only do so with abundant thoughtfulness. It may be best only to write down any compelling ideas or take just initial steps as Mercury, the Sun’s ruler, will still be slow.
With so many retrogrades, the next few weeks aren’t going to bring a lot of relief. Thankfully, the Sun in Virgo will help us be more resilient and handle ourselves gracefully as we navigate the challenges these retrogrades will bring. Focus on what you can control and be mindful of what you can’t. And above all, be gentle and forgiving with yourself. We can’t always be perfect, but we can be perfect in our intentions.
