Mars enters Scorpio on October 11th at exactly 11:04 pm CDT and will stay here until November 24th. Mars hasn’t been in one of the signs it rules since May of 2022, so I can not understate how significant this transit will be for us. For the next six weeks, we need to focus on actions that require a strong will and being perceptive as we involve ourselves intimately with what we desire.
Mercury in Scorpio
Mercury enters Scorpio on October 29th at exactly 2:22 pm CDT and will stay here until November 17th. As with all the planets in Scorpio right now, Mercury’s ruler Mars will be retrograde during its duration in Scorpio. Communication may be difficult for us if we don’t understand our deeper motivations.
Solar Eclipse in Scorpio
There will be a Solar Eclipse and New Moon in Scorpio on October 25th at 5:49 am CDT. Remember that eclipses always happen in pairs, so we are really kicking off a two-week period (often referred to as eclipse season) that tends to throw matters in disarray and spur unexpected events. The corresponding Lunar Eclipse in Taurus is on November 8th, so until then, hold off on starting any important projects or making impetuous decisions.
Venus Enters Scorpio
Venus enters Scorpio on October 23rd at exactly 2:52 am CDT and will stay here until November 16th. Venus is unfortunately rather unhappy in Scorpio, and matters will be compounded further by Mars, Venus’s ruler, stationing retrograde. The next three weeks will allow us to assess our relationships once again and perhaps even cut ties with those not meeting our emotional needs.
Sun Enters Scorpio
The Sun enters Scorpio on October 23rd at exactly 5:36 am CDT and will stay here until November 22nd. This will be quite a significant change for the Sun, who is leaving cool, detached, and logical Libra and entering the intense waters of Scorpio. The situation gets even more chaotic as the Sun’s ruler in Scorpio, Mars, will be retrograde. This Scorpio season may be turbulent in ways we never expected.
Mercury Enters Scorpio
Mercury enters Scorpio at 5:35 pm CDT on November 5th and will stay here until November 24th. We now want to stop holding in what we want to say, so take that leap and get to the point already! Mercury previously spent a long time in Libra, where Venus ruled it; now Mercury will be ruled by Mars, infusing our thoughts and ideas with a little more passion and intensity.
New Moon in Scorpio
The New Moon in Scorpio happens on November 4th at precisely 4:15 pm CDT. Don’t be surprised to be surprised during this Scorpio New Moon. It is tightly opposed to Uranus in Taurus, indicating that life isn’t done throwing us curveballs. November is going to be a rough month, and this New Moon sets the stage. We are still grappling with our fears and letting them hold us back. Unfortunately, sometimes we can’t just push through something quickly, and right now, we are being forced to just sit with this energy for a while longer.
On the positive side, the Sun and Moon are separating from a square to Saturn, so the worst is actually behind us in many cases. That doesn’t mean everything is smooth sailing now, but matters are working towards a resolution. I want us to consider that a certain situation that seems horrible to us right now might not actually be as bad as we’re assuming.
Use this New Moon to collect yourself and prepare for some turbulent weeks ahead. I promise by the time we get to January, the situation astrologically will improve a lot. So hang in there, and remember, as always, to practice loving-kindness.

Mars Enters Scorpio
On Saturday, October 30th, Mars enters Scorpio after spending two months in Libra and will stay here until December 13th. This will be a dramatic change for Mars as they go from adversity in Libra to a place of ease and advantage in Scorpio. Our primal instincts will be the driving force behind many of our actions as we face our deepest hopes and fears. It’s time to get honest about what is really motivating our behavior.
Sun Enters Scorpio
The Sun enters Scorpio at exactly 11:51 pm CDT on Friday, October 22nd, and will stay here until November 21st. Scorpio is a water sign, so emotions fuel our expressions and decisions for the next four weeks. We should take this time to embrace our feelings and learn that only when we are aware of our own fears and suffering can we understand our motivations.
Venus Enters Scorpio
Venus leaves Libra and enters Scorpio at 3:39 pm CDT on Friday, September 10th. This will be a significant shift for Venus as we begin to desire relationships with deeper connections, and it will pose some challenges. Bringing a relationship from surface level to something more complex can be a tricky path to navigate.
Venus Enters Scorpio
Venus leaves Libra and enters Scorpio this morning on November 21st. It’s time to leave diplomacy aside and get deep for a while. We should consider what we’ve pushed down or aren’t dealing with that is keeping us from getting what we want. We should also look into what financial issues we’ve been avoiding that may be holding us back or tying us down.
Sun Enters Scorpio
On Thursday, October 22nd, the Sun enters Scorpio at 6:00 pm CDT. It’s a big change from the Sun’s ruler being Venus when it was in Libra to Mars, and a retrograde Mars on top of it. Scorpio’s energy tends to bring stuff up, specifically stuff others would rather leave alone. With the Sun here, repressed things relating to our ego can especially bubble up during this time. Look into what hurts your feelings or bruises your ego for the next few weeks.
Mercury Retrograde in Scorpio 2020
Mercury stations retrograde on Tuesday, October 13th. Mercury will start its retrograde in Scorpio and back into Libra for a bit. This retrograde will last until November 3rd, which is the same day as the US election. If you are a US citizen, please vote early and double-check your ballot and any associated paperwork. As with all Mercury retrogrades, don’t buy electronics (no, really), avoid signing important contracts, and back up your devices. Do not start any big projects, instead review what you’ve been working on.
Mercury Enters Scorpio
Today, Sunday, September 27th, Mercury enters Scorpio for an extended stay. Mercury will be here until December due to an upcoming retrograde (technically, Mercury will retrograde back into Libra briefly as well). In the last few weeks, while Mercury was in Libra we were connecting with others and figuring out our alliances. As Mercury moves through Scorpio, it will become increasingly clear that we need to dig past the surface if we are to get through the next few months successfully.
